Performing examinations with Higo®
Temperature examination
- Attach the thermometer module:
- Place the thermometer on the center of the forehead just above the eyebrow line.
- Slide it slowly, without pulling the module away from the skin, across the temple to the tip of the right or left ear.
- Make sure you cover the temporal artery with the measurement.
Throat examination
- Attach the module with the appropriate size spatula (L for adults or S for children):
- Slightly tilt the patient's head.
- Insert Higo® with the spatula up to 3/4 of the length of the tongue.
- Firmly press the tongue with the entire surface of the spatula.
- Catch in the picture the back of the throat, uvula, tonsils and palatal arches.
Ear examination
- Attach the otoscope module and disposable speculum (4.0 mm for adults or 2.5 mm for children up to 3 year old):
- Remember, hold the otoscope HORIZONTALLY in the right hand (right at the right ear and left at the left ear). Before performing the examination, clean the ear of excess earwax.
- Grasp the upper part of the auricle with your fingers and pull up and back quite firmly (this does not hurt and straightens the ear canal).
- Insert the otoscope and gently move it in different directions until you find the eardrum.
Auscultation of the heart
- Attach the stethoscope module:
- Perform the examination in silence (the doctor will hear what is recorded).
- Place the stethoscope on the appropriate 4 points on the body, make sure you do not place the stethoscope on the sternum (bone).
- Do not pull away the stethoscope from the skin, do not move it during the examination.
Auscultation of the lungs
- Attach the stethoscope module:
- Perform the examination in silence.
- Place the stethoscope on the corresponding 12 points on the body, 6 on the front of the chest, 6 on the back, the points are displayed on Higo® device.
- Remember to breathe deeply!
- Do not pull away the stethoscope during the examination, do not move it during the examination.
